Overview:

HealthForce of Virginia is currently seeking experienced clinicians to work full time at Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. Hours for this position are 8:30 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, with one evening 11am-7:00pm every week.

PLEASE NOTE: This position is with a medical staffing agency. You will not be a direct hire of the Fairfax-Falls Church CSB or the Fairfax ADC. You will therefore receive benefits through HealthForce and not the CSB. HealthForce benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, weekly pay, bonuses based on hours worked during a calendar year, gift card vouchers, and paid holidays after a 60 day waiting period. We also offer PTO for employees who work 1,800 hours within a calendar year (Jan 1 – Dec 31). Working this position will not bar you from employment should a full time position come available with the CSB or ADC. This position is a great stepping stone for those interested in working as a merit employee for either institution or for those interested in working with a staffing agency; this position is long term and can last years through agency.

Job Description:

Coordinate care and services to individuals diagnosed with substance use disorder and on medication for addictions treatment (MAT) to make successful re-entry back to the community and decrease recidivism. Conduct clinical assessments using the ASAM criteria for individuals with primary substance use, co-occurring mental health disorders/developmental disabilities/and/or physical illness. Maintain collaborative relationships with individuals and develop diagnostic formulation and make recommendations for further services in a timely manner.

Must be able, through observation, to monitor and assess risk for harm to self and/or others. Demonstrate knowledge of community resources and effectively navigate those resources in the interest of the individual. Provide clinical consultation and intervention, coordination, and linkage with Adult Detention Center (ADC) and community partners (including but not limited to court services, CSB, and community residential programs) to support community re-entry. Create and manage group and family treatment to diagnostically, culturally, and socio-economically diverse individuals. Conduct groups for individuals on MAT.

Possession of a current license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia in one of the following:

o Licensed Clinical Social Worker,

o Licensed Professional Counselor,

o Clinical Psychologist,

o Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist,

o Resident in Counseling

o Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner or

o Clinical Nurse Specialist.

o Two years of clinical experience – looking for individuals with substance use experience.
